The Municipality of Magliano di Tenna has been awarded the tender for the support of local projects for contemporary visual arts, promoted and supported by the Marche Region – Cultural Heritage and Activities Department, with the project presented by the Montegiorgese artist Gisella Rossi,
The author in charge of the design and artistic direction has decades of experience and has obtained multiple assignments with public administrations and private individuals, and her works are also present in museums, art galleries and collections of contemporary art.
The announcement allowed the creation of a permanent installation of an inlay in travertine and steel, to be placed on the facade of the castle walls of the historic center, at the entrance to the town and depicting the heraldic coats of arms of the Municipality of Magliano di Tenna reinterpreted in a contemporary key . The coats of arms blend with rounded lines, aimed at symbolizing the characteristic hills of the middle Tenna Valley.
The initiative also includes a lithograph in limited copies, numbered and signed in original by the artist, entitled “Castrum Malleani”. These lithographs, in shades of blue, represent a glimpse of the castle in the historic center, the War Memorial and, at the top right, the coats of arms of the municipality are shown. The entire project highlights the heraldic coats of arms by reinterpreting them in a current key, so as to achieve a fusion of historicity and contemporaneity.
Supported by the Municipality and the Marche Region, the project is aimed at developing the contemporary visual art of the territory, an important aspect that is linked to the more current need than ever for Art and Culture as vehicles for collective growth in our small communities. Art, a cognitive and production activity, also creates an added value in aesthetic terms, ultimately going to embellish the places.
The inauguration is scheduled for Tuesday 8 December 2020 at 11.00 at Piazzale Fidanza – Belvedere area in Magliano. Civil and religious authorities will intervene.
